Each boy walks up to the "chief" and asks for a fork. The chief hands them a fork and they ask, "How do you get them so clean?" The chief replies "River Water."

The last boy asks the chief for a fork, and the chief replies, "I'll have to wash some more." He pauses, then yells, "River Water!" at which time another boy, dressed like a dog, comes running out. Oh, the groans from the crowd!!!

This pack has some ceremony around their badge achievements, and we were waiting here for Mr. Byrd to finish his talk before the badges were handed out.

The Bear Cubs get black paint on their left cheek as a symbol of the eyes of the bear. The red paint on their right cheek is a symbol of the bear's ears.

The "denners," Boy Scouts who help the Cub Scout dens, finished painting James' face, and have moved on to the other boys.

Our den leader hands out the Bear badges to the parents of the proud scouts, and shakes the scouts' hands in recognition. James is pretty thrilled to be getting his Bear badge.

James is just beaming with his face paint. He sure enjoyed his evening, and was very reverent during the whole evening. We're all proud of him.
